Five days across the Valmora Alps, four huts and a bakery at the bottom. The whole thing fits on one folded map.

Day 1 of 5 San Lucio to Lares
The bus drops you at the church in San Lucio and the path follows the river up through the larches. Have lunch in the meadow with the bench, there is only one.

Day 2 of 5 over Passo del Corvo
Forty-one switchbacks of loose scree to the pass, the long climb of the week. Leave by seven and the clouds are usually sitting below you by eleven.
Day 3 of 5 a short one, on purpose
Lago Scuro is cold enough to make grown adults shout. The hut lends out a rowing boat with one good oar, so you mostly go in circles.
Day 4 of 5 the highest bed
Dinner is at seven and it is whatever the warden made. Nobody manages to sleep before the stars come out, and nobody minds.
Day 5 of 5 all of it downhill
Down through the apricot orchards into Sella, where the bakery keeps the last tart back for walkers. The bus leaves from right outside.

Season 2027 small groups
Half board in the huts, shared bunk rooms, so bring a sleeping liner. We move dates for weather and never cancel for small numbers. The 16:10 from Sella meets the 17:05 train at Ponte Alto.
